to get in shape and stay in shape? Do something different this year!
Do you run? Then start dancing! Do you dance? Try Cardio Kickboxing!
Are you a kick-boxer? Why not try yoga! Sit on the couch a lot?
Lift your legs!! Commit to exercise as a part of your daily life
for the rest of your life. Here
are Ten Healthy Tips for your Mind, Body, and Spirit:
- Start
slowly! Exercise is a long term, that is,
a
lifetime commitment; setting unrealistic goals will only set you
up for failure.
- Choose
an activity that's fun! You will want to stick to it.
- Notice
small results and be happy! Small results are soon big results
that encourage you to keep going to achieve your daily exercise
goals.
- Be
conscious! Choose healthy food that pleases your palate. Find
choices you particularly like. Switch your thought from candy
bar to a natural fruit and cereal bar.
- Take
three minutes each day to sit quietly and meditate. Try and choose
the same convenient time each day. After one week, try adding
one minute per day.
- Drink
one glass of water in the morning, and the afternoon and the evening.
- Choose
to keep your mind active! Learn something new, something you've
always wanted to learn. Definitely let new ideas enter your mind
while thinking positive!
- Breathe
consciously! When you exercise, breathe consciously. When you
are quiet, breath consciously. When you wake up first thing in
the morning, take a deep breath!
- Think
positive - it reduces stress and it builds confidence and well-being.
- Say
thanks to the power of your life - the earth, yourself, someone.
For
decades I have seen people make resolutions to exercise but by the
third day, the third week or the third month, they have fallen off
the bandwagon. So, do something different this year! Replace old
habits with at least one new healthy habit that you know will stick.
Make sure it's something that attracts you. View exercise as equally
important to your daily health as brushing your teeth on a daily
basis. Exercise can improve your over all well being, including
your physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and psychological well
being. So start with ten minutes a day, guaranteed to jump-start
you toward a regular twenty-to-thirty minute exercise program three
times a week. So get up and get moving!
